Mediation Lawyers
Many disputes can be resolved without being decided by a court or tribunal, saving money, managing risk and potentially adverse publicity.
Mediation can deliver a cost-effective way of settling disputes. As a form of Alternative Dispute Resolution, the use and appeal of mediation is ever increasing. Mediation has received significant international approval as a recognised means of reaching an enforceable agreement and is encouraged strongly by the courts during litigation. Mediation may also be a requirement of commercial contracts before litigation.
Mediation is a confidential process that can take place in person or virtually. During a mediation process an independent mediator assists the parties by helping to facilitate the resolution of their dispute. The process of how this is achieved is fluid and entirely flexible and if approached in the right way, has a proven high success rate. Some of the benefits of mediation include:
- the opportunity to agree on a resolution that a court or tribunal may not have the power to determine
- the option for parties involved to preserve or rebuild relationships
- where the parties want to discuss issues beyond the scope of court proceedings in a particular jurisdiction (such as reaching a global settlement)
We have extensive experience acting for parties in mediation and resolving disputes globally through mediation across our locations.
Our mediation services
If you require a mediator who can be neutral to both parties, our mediators are available to be appointed as an independent mediator.
Our civil and commercial mediators are CEDR accredited and able to call upon their extensive experience in civil and commercial litigation, disputes, dispute avoidance, risk mitigation and risk management, and negotiation to mediate and facilitate the resolution of the most difficult disputes.
Our family team has eight mediators, both male and female. We also offer trained collaborative lawyers where courts are contractually shut out of the process and parties commit to working together with their lawyers present.
