Nic is a specialist sports lawyer and advisor and is a well-known figure in the UK and international sports sector. Prior to joining our Firm, Nic was founder and Chairman of Couchmans LLP.
Nic has extensive experience in developing and implementing commercial rights programmes for a large number of sports and advising sports investors, sponsors and sports businesses, and has worked in over 25 sports.
Nic's clients have included; the International Olympic Committee, Formula 1 Management, Rugby World Cups 1991/1995/1999/2003, Ascot Authority, Six Nations, European Rugby Cup, International Tennis Federation, England and Wales Cricket Board; Premier Rugby, Poland 2012, British Champions Series, Volvo Ocean Race, Great Run Company, World Match Racing Tour; the International Rowing Federation (FISA) Aviva, BT, Carlsberg, Coca-Cola, Haymarket Publishing, Heineken, Nationwide Building Society, Nike, Nokia, News International, Panasonic, Rio Tinto, UK Sport, as well as various high profile players and athletes, and player associations, such as World Pro Surfers.
Nic was named as one of the world’s twenty most influential sports lawyers by Sport Business magazine, and featured in The Times “Top Ten Sports Lawyers” list. He is also a regular speaker and writer on sports business matters and articles in 2019 include pieces on sports data rights, IOC Rule 40, and sports investments.
Nic was a co-founder of Sports Investment Partners LLP (chaired by Sir Martin Broughton) and is a co-founder of Sport360 Consulting.
Nic is admitted to practise in England and Wales.
