About
Michael is a specialist construction and engineering lawyer with over 15 years’ experience. He advises clients across the full range of construction issues, from contract procurement strategies to dispute avoidance and resolution.
His dispute experience covers mediation, expert determination, adjudication, arbitration and litigation. Michael is recognised as a ‘Leading Individual’ for contentious construction by the Legal 500.
He advises national and international clients on a range of projects including sports stadiums, commercial and residential developments, hotels, logistics and transport hubs, and petrochemical plants.
Michael also leads the Firm’s team on Building and Fire Safety, a dedicated group of lawyers from across the Firm’s practice areas advising clients on the new regulatory regime imposed on residential developments within England, and the enhanced liabilities in undertaking such developments.
Michael is admitted to practice in England and Wales.
Experience
- Advising Dover Harbour Board on the construction aspects of its £250 million Dover Western Docks Revival scheme
- Advising on a series of adjudications concerning a cargo handling facility at an international airport
- Advising an international engineering contractor on disputes arising out of the engineering, procurement and construction of two petrochemical plants in North Africa
- Advising a residential developer on delays and cost overruns on a project in central London.
