About

Johnathon is an Associate in our Construction, Engineering and Projects team in London. He is Australian qualified and previously worked at one of Australia's largest firms for nearly five years before joining the Firm.

Johnathon acts for clients in the construction, engineering and infrastructure industry in relation to all aspects of contentious construction law and across all stages of the project life cycle. His clients include employers/developers, contractors, subcontractors and institutional investors. Johnathon has particular experience acting for clients in large and complex litigation and other forums of dispute resolution, including negotiation, mediation and adjudication.

Jonathan is admitted to practise in Queensland, Australia.

Experience

  • Acting for a contractor in defending superior court litigation involving seven parties relating to alleged fire safety and cladding defects.
  • Acting for the owner of a twenty storey building in prosecuting superior court litigation in respect of the defective installation of glass doors and windows.
  • Acting for a contractor in defending superior court litigation in respect of allegedly defective works relating to the rectification of storm damage to a commercial office tower.
  • Acting for the owner of a fifteen storey building in prosecuting superior court litigation in respect of fire safety, cladding and waterproofing defects.
  • Acting for a high net worth individual in respect of the termination of a building contract for a substantial residential dwelling.
  • Advising clients in relation to all aspects of construction law, including in respect of variations, delay, extensions of time, liquidated damages, payment and termination.
