Gareth has an international practice having spent over 10 years working in our Middle East offices and has been consistently ranked in Global directories for his arbitration and disputes work. Gareth now shares his time between the UK and the GCC and continues to support clients in complex, high-value cases across a wide range of sectors.
Gareth has especial experience in international arbitrations having represented clients in DIAC, BCDR, LCIA, UNICTRAL and ICC Arbitral proceedings across a range of jurisdictions.
Gareth also advises TMT clients in relation to regulatory compliance acting for operators, regulators and technology companies across the GCC (and wider).
Gareth is admitted to practise in England and Wales.
Experience
- Advising Williams Grand Prix Engineering Limited on a successful USD$ 30 million+ against a former sponsor.
- Acting for a Qatari Telecommunications company in a $680 million arbitration brought by a Saudi conglomerate resulting in the claim being dismissed and the entirety of the client's costs being paid by the Claimant.
- Acting for the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority of Bahrain in relation to the structural separation of the Bahrain Telecommunications Company BSC(c): the first project of its kind in the GCC.
- Acting on the Awal Bank Administration which involves over 75 different claims in over 7 different jurisdictions.
