About

Chris’ construction law experience covers the full scope of the project lifecycle from early advice on procurement routes, through to the appointment of the project team, contract administration, dispute management and formal dispute resolution.

He has experience negotiating and advising on a wide range of UK industry standard forms of building contract, with particular experience of the JCT and NEC forms. He is also experienced in multiple dispute resolution processes, including adjudication, mediation and litigation.

Chris advises a broad client base, which encompasses developers, main contractors, sub-contractors and energy production asset operators among others.

Chris is admitted to practise in England and Wales.

Experience

  • Advising on post termination and handover issues upon the replacement of the operator and maintenance contractor on a major offshore windfarm.
  • Advising a cladding subcontractor in respect of compartmentation defects in an East London Tower Block.
  • Advising a landlord in connection with a long running dispute relating to the construction of a hospital on behalf of its tenant.
  • Advising a main contractor in connection with a substantial claim against a subcontractor for defective substations at a series of new build solar farms.
  • Negotiating all major construction documentation for the £55m refurbishment of a landmark Central London Hotel.
