About
Carolyn provides ultra-high net worth clients and family offices with holistic wealth planning, including in light of the upcoming UK budget changes. She advises on the intricacies of estate and succession planning, investment structures for private wealth (trusts, foundations, insurance wrappers, family investment companies, private label funds – all of which may be UK or non-UK structures), philanthropic activities, and considerations pre- and post-arrival in or departure from the UK. Carolyn also helps client assess particular investment solutions by explaining the UK tax implications of these, and assists with ad hoc remittance queries or other queries regarding the UK’s non domiciled tax regime. Although a UK specialist, most of Carolyn’s clients have an international focus.
Carolyn is also involved with risk work for the UK market, e.g. the assessment of complex structures, the risk of non UK companies being controlled by clients from the UK.
Prior to joining the Firm’s Zurich office, Carolyn was Head of Wealth Planning UK at Crédit Suisse, and later leader of the European Wealth Planning team post-merger with UBS. Carolyn’s previous roles include serving in London as a Private Client Tax Partner at KPMG, and as Head of Specialist Tax Group at HSBC Private Bank.
As a UK wealth planner, Carolyn regularly provides internal training for those working with UK clients and she hosts and speaks at client events.
Carolyn holds a Master of Arts in Classics and a D Phil in Ancient Greek Political History from St Hugh’s College, Oxford.
