Foundation Fortnight 2024: A celebration of impact
Foundation Fortnight 2024 marked our third annual celebration of the Charles Russell Speechlys Foundation and it’s six key charity partners. Our Cheltenham, Guildford and London offices were abuzz with activities that both highlighted the work of the charities and offered our people the opportunity to give their time and skills to support their work.
This year, events included:
- A ‘Lunch & Learn’ in Guildford with representatives from Emmaus, including their beneficiaries who spoke to the life-changing impact of Emmaus’ support for those who have experienced homelessness.
- An interactive workshop in London, where volunteers collaborated with Khulisa’s fundraising and partnerships team to refine and develop their corporate partnerships programme.
- A volunteer day with Buglife for our Cheltenham office, building a shelter for the local community volunteers who maintain the Bisley community allotment, and the invertebrates who call it home, as part of the Stroud Valleys Project.
- A panel event with SafeLives and Z2K on empowering the voices of those with lived experience of domestic abuse and poverty, to effect societal change.
- A volunteer day with Food Bank Aid, helping sort and pack food donations for distribution to the charity’s network of 32 foodbanks across London.
- Fundraising events including a quiz and lunchtime game-shows, which brought colleagues together in the spirit of friendly rivalry whilst raising money for the Foundation’s charity partners.
Debbie Watson, Head of Social Impact, commented on our Foundation Fortnight:
"Thank you to our many colleagues who were involved in organising and participating in events throughout the fortnight, and to the charities who continue to deliver such rewarding partnerships for our people."
