Charles Russell Speechlys advises Foodles on the strategic acquisition of caterer Le Val d'Evre

Charles Russell Speechlys Paris has advised Foodles on the acquisition of the prestigious Le Val d’Evre caterer, long-established in Ancenis, Loire-Atlantique, France.

Founded 10 years ago, Foodles is a pioneering scale-up and market leader in responsible and innovative catering via connected fridges. Foodles has been included in the prestigious FrenchTech 120 and Lazard T100 rankings. With sales of +45 million by 2023, Foodles employs over 420 people and supports over 450 customers in France, Belgium, Monaco and the United Kingdom.

This operation marks a decisive step for Foodles, aiming to internalise almost half of its meal production and consolidate its position as a leader in the new-generation corporate catering sector, having established itself as a sustainable, healthy and affordable alternative to traditional company canteens.

For over a year, the operation was successfully managed by Mehdi Cupaiolo, Foodles’ General Counsel, with support from the Charles Russell Speechlys Paris team: Renaud Ferry (Partner), Guillaume Ferrand (Of Counsel) and Paul Souchon (Associate). Raphaël Bagdassarian (Partner) and Arthur Boisseau (Associate) assisted with the French tax aspects.

The following EY team also advised Foodles:

  • Jean-Christophe Pernet, Christopher Enger and Xavier Simon (Finance)
  • Marie Pascale Piot and Sophie Muyard (Corporate)

Clément Bonhomme and Michaël Ormancey, co-CEOs and co-founders of Foodles, commented: “We would like to extend our warmest thanks to the teams at Charles Russell Speechlys in Paris and EY, who supported us in this strategic step for Foodles. This operation is a further step forward in the transformation of corporate catering."

Renaud Ferry, Partner in the Corporate team at Charles Russells Paris, added: “We are delighted to have advised Foodles on this inaugural acquisition and are equally proud to support them in their growth dynamic.”

Jean-Christophe Pernet, Partner in EY’s Fast Growing Companies team in Paris, said he was: “Delighted to have been able to continue supporting Foodles’ growth and to have assisted them in this strategic operation”.
