Charles Russell Speechlys acts on the sale of CAJ Mercian Holdings Limited

Charles Russell Speechlys LLP have advised the sellers of CAJ Mercian Holdings Limited (CAJ) on the sale of Mercian Logistics to Cathay Investments.

Mercian Logistics is an independent logistics business and services both businesses and private individuals throughout the whole of Herefordshire and Gloucestershire. The company offers a full range of parcel collection and delivery services including timed deliveries, security and fragile services and additional insurance where required. They also offer a complete fulfilment service from storage, picking, packing and delivering, taking the hassle out of despatch for their customers.

Cathay Investments was founded in 2003 and the acquisition of Mercian Logistics sees a continuation of its buy and build strategy in the  logistics and distribution sector, seeking to create a profitable multi-channel global business.

Christopher Stone, former director of CAJ and one of the sellers, commented:

“The Charles Russell Speechlys team have provided invaluable commercial advice and support throughout the sale process. They were flexible and fast-paced from start to finish, ensuring that the sale was completed as smoothly and quickly as possible.”

Rebecca Burford, Corporate Partner at Charles Russell Speechlys, commented:

“It was a pleasure to assist Chris and the rest of the team on the sale. They have invested a huge amount of time and effort into developing Mercian Logistics into what it is today and we hope that Cathay can continue to take this business forward.”.

The Charles Russell Speechlys team was led by Corporate Partner, Rebecca Burford, and supported by Samuel Milne, Pei Li Kew,  Matthew Carter and Francesca Charlton (Corporate), Helen Coward and Anna Reynolds (Tax), and Mark White and Martin Fisher (Property).
