Charles Russell Speechlys advises TDR Capital LLP and the Issa brothers on the real estate aspects of ASDA acquisition

Charles Russell Speechlys has advised TDR Capital LLP and the Issa brothers on the real estate elements of their acquisition of a majority stake in ASDA from Walmart for an enterprise value of £6.8bn and the financing of that acquisition.

The team, led by Lee Medlock and Mark White, carried out due diligence on the ASDA property portfolio, whilst working alongside Skadden on the corporate elements of the deal and Latham and Watkins on the financing aspects.

Lee Medlock, Partner, Charles Russell Speechlys, says: “We are delighted to have been involved in this deal which is both an example of the kind of large scale and complex transaction that the Charles Russell Speechlys Real Estate group deals with, but was also a great example of collaboration between a number of different professional advisors."
