The Telegraph quotes Rose Carey on the impact of skilled worker visa changes

Rose Carey, Partner, speaks to The Telegraph on the impact of skilled worker visa changes which rose from around £26,000 to £38,700 in April.

She has observed that some companies are potentially considering moving their operations overseas as they are struggling to recruit for UK jobs. Some companies in the manufacturing sector for example don't get that many applications from local workers and the ones that do apply don't stay.

Bringing pay into line with the new threshold would be a significant cost as companies would also need to increase salaries for British staff to avoid employment law issues. If a business does decide to relocate many jobs including many held by British workers would be lost.
