The Straits Times quotes Silvia On on wealth trends in China

Singapore is a key part of the global diversification strategy for many wealthy Chinese individuals. 

Many of these individuals have turned to Singapore as a safe haven to park some of their funds or as a backup immigration plan.

Commenting on this trend, Silvia On, Partner, comments for The Straits Times:

Chinese clients are adopting diversification as their investment strategy, particularly by building their investment portfolio in different jurisdictions, industries and asset classes, and on different platforms.

She adds that, given the uncertainty in market conditions, they are keen to reduce portfolio risks and exposure to market volatility by 'making sure their eggs are not in one basket'.
