    Cookie notice

Cookies are small text files, small amounts of data, that are placed on your computer or mobile device by websites that you visit. They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site. Our website uses both session cookies and persistent cookies. Some cookies are deleted when you finish browsing but others are retained so that you can be remembered when you come back to our website. The information might be about you, your preferences or your device. You are not directly identified but they are intended to give you a better, more personalised experience. More information is available at All About Cookies.

So that you are fully informed, we have set out below the different types of cookies we use on this site, what they are used for, how long they are retained and how you can opt out if you choose. You should be aware that opting out of some types of cookies, may exclude you from accessing or using some of the features of the website or otherwise diminish your experience and the services we are able to offer.

We use analytics cookies to help us maintain and improve our website and understand what content is most useful to our users. We also use third-party cookies from different website domains for our advertising and marketing efforts. They collect information in a way that does not directly identify anyone. Some of the cookies we use are essential to make our website work. You can accept or reject our analytic cookies and change your mind at any time.

We use the following Cookies on our website:

Emails

We use Vuture to send out marketing communications via email. For this service we use cookie and tracking technology to see whether emails are opened, replied to or forwarded and whether links are followed. Cookie and tracking technology is used in the following ways:

  • Opening emails: if you open the email either by downloading images in the email or clicking in a link we log such activity.
  • View as web page: If you click on the "view it as a web page" link, a tracking code is passed in the link so that the web page is personalised in the same way as the email.
  • Links to web pages: If you click on any web link, we pass a tracking code in the link to the web page which we use to log such activity on our database.
  • Unsubscribe: If you click unsubscribe, we will automatically log this information on our database. If you unsubscribe from any email invitation or alert, we will continue to store your personal data on a "marketing suppression list" so as to record your preference.
  • Event RSVP buttons: In our event invitations and confirmations we provide buttons to allow you to accept, decline, cancel (and register if you are not the original recipient of the invitation) for that event. Clicking on these buttons will pass a tracking code so we can record your choice in our database to help us manage the event.
  • Web tracking: If you click through from one of our emails or landing pages to our website we use additional cookies on our website to connect your e-marketing journey with your website journey. This is to help us to to provide you with the best user experience and relevant content across our digital marketing channels.
  • tracking gif: each email contains a tiny unique graphic or "pixel" that tracks whether the email is opened. The graphic does not contain any personal information.
The use of cookie and tracking technology helps us to improve the services we offer. You can unsubscribe from our email updates or disable tracking (where relevant) at any time either by using the link provided at the bottom of the email.
