Shivi Rajput, Associate, Family

The Firm is committed to improving diversity, equity and inclusion and I am an active member of the Gender and Religion, Beliefs and Ethnicities committees. We meet regularly, organise Lunch and Learn sessions and networking events. It’s a wonderful way to build your internal network and have fun, whilst educating yourself and helping to make a difference.

I also run the firm-wide DEI book club, which is open to all employees. We meet every 6 weeks, and each session has a “theme” which covers each of the Firm's DEI initiatives: LGBTQ+, Gender, Race and Religion, Mental Health, Physical Disability and Social Mobility. The aim is to encourage reading outside of what you would ordinarily select, so that you can learn from the lived experiences of those in different positions to you and understand how to promote a more diverse and inclusive workplace. Personally, the book club has been such an enjoyable way to broaden my horizons and connect with colleagues outside of my own team.

My advice to new employees joining the Firm is to get involved – there is so much you can be a part of and lots of ways you can make a difference to the Firm’s culture.
